Public Holiday Pay

Please can i ask for some advice... if an employee has chosen to be paid on an hourly basis as a casual - so takes leave when it suits him and doesn't get paid for that leave, but works 6hrs most Fridays of the year... is that employee then entitled to pay on a public holiday that he hasn't worked on? Don't want to short pay him at all... but also don't want to set precident for future. TIA...

Only if he would ordinarily have worked on that public holiday, then you would have to pay him.
