unfair treatment at work

hi I need advice last year January I resigned at my previous job as a moulder operator to start a new job at a other company as a moulder operator at least I thought I was since the first day I operated the moulder and even trained other staff on it I also do maintenance work on the machines in the factory on my contract it states I'm a general worker I asked why it was like that and I was told it's just a formality and everyone in the factories contracts is like that but today I seen my job posted on the notice board and when I asked about it I was told to re apply for it but I think it's unfair because the add I replied to for the job said they were looking for a operator and I have been working on the machine for almost two years now. is there anything I can do

Hi

If you're working in a sector regulated by a bargaining council, then the council's collective agreement will assist you in terms of job class and categorisation. Absent a bargaining council, you are bound by the terms in the employment contract that you signed.
