Termination of employment

Unread post by HISAT1 » 01 Oct 2017, 22:49

Employee not performing her duties despite being told.
We have a dental practice and the employee does not ensure strict hygiene measures are carried out.
She was sent on a course in infection control but still neglect her duties.
This lack of duties could result in compromising the patient's health
photographs of the infringements were taken.
Is this grounds enough for terminating her employment

It's advisable that you keep record of the infringements and the disciplinary actions taken. If you have not yet disciplined her, issue her with a written warning at the next infraction. If she repeats the infraction, a final written warning and if the misconduct persists, call her to a disciplinary hearing before an independent chairperson. Contact Jan du Toit for assistance as chair or if in Cape Town, I'd be happy to assist.
