termination of employment contract

Where an employee has an employment contract that contain a clause " that any party can terminate the contract with giving 4 weeks written notice". Can the employer terminate the contract by giving written notice without giving a reason for termination?

No. The reason must still be justifiable in terms of the LRA (dismissal for misconduct, operational requirements, medical incapacity etc).
