appointments

Unread post by Helashini » 17 Feb 2018, 22:33

Hi Tinus,

Question 1: Can a 16.1 appoint himself as a CR8.1 if he intends to be on site full-time taking full control of the project?

Question 2: During an SABS OHSAS18001 Audit- the auditor indicated that HS Reps and First aider appointments must have the period for which they will be appointed and this should be in alignment with the validity period of their training certificates. According to the auditor it is incorrect to appoint these two "until the completion of the project." If their certificates expire during the course of the project, then the employee has to be retrained and a new letter of appointment to be made. Is this correct? I was always under the impression it would be fine to state the appointment would be valid until the end of the project and just ensure that the persons gets certificated when the certificate expires?

Thanks
Hela

If competent it would not be problem (SACPCMP registered).

I tend to agree with your auditor on this one.
